FAQS
When operating a boom lift, it is vital to remember that it is possible for boom lifts to topple over on uneven terrain. The machines can also slip if operated on a slope, especially if the chassis angle limit or the boom’s gradeability are exceeded. It is recommended that boom lifts are only operated on firm, level ground.
Our machines are designed to remain stable when operated by properly trained individuals who understand the environmental conditions and how to use the outrigger pads for stabilization. These pads help to distribute the load evenly and reduce point loadings. In the case of an emergency, our computerized machines will allow personnel to be safely returned to the ground.
To ensure that boom lifts are operated safely and effectively, relevant training should be provided to all those involved in operating the machine. Other safety precautions to take when operating a boom lift include:
- Regular inspection and maintenance
- Using a safety harness
- Evaluating the surrounding environment
Yes, there can be multiple people held in the cages of our boom lifts. Before doing so, take note of the weight capacity of the cage. For a 210 ft boom lift, the maximum weight that can be carried in the cage is 1,322 lbs, or 600 kg. As long as this capacity is not exceeded, the boom lift will function normally.
